Wisconsin Walleyes and Open Water

It’s Almost Here!

Wisconsin Walleyes and Open Water

Open water is upon us and soon the weather will be good enough to take clients out! Come join me! March is typically when I get the boat back on the water. Plenty of April dates are available for booking. Book Now!

It’s time to gear up for some walleye fishing on the Fox River and the Wolf River in East Central Wisconsin. Hopefully by the end of March the weather will cooperate so it’s not too cold out there. I always love feeling that first whack of the season by a nice walleye. Come join me and get bit.
Check out www.FishingGuideWisconsin for more information on fishing with Captain Kirk. Dan (aka Captain Kirk) is a USCG certified captain. You know you’re in good hands if you’re in a vessel piloted by Captain Kirk. Get ready to beam aboard!

A Wolf River Beauty!

The Fox River out of DePere is special place. You might just catch the walleye of a lifetime. Yes, many other boats will be out there. The good news is there is plenty of space for everyone. We might work through a crowd but then we’ll probably find our own little area to work that isn’t crowded and we’ll put some fish in the boat. Get your jig on! We’ll start out vertical jigging and I’ll do some casting and with some luck, patience, and practice, we’ll get on a bite.

I also enjoy early spring fishing on the Wolf River. The Wolf get crazy busy in spring. I call it “bumper boats”. Even still, it’s a great place to try. Often you catch smaller male fish that are so yummy for the table. I’ll actually encourage you to keep some fish. Our system is so strong that it can handle all these people fishing. It’s really hard to believe. For the most part we’ll be vertical jigging. Simple, fun, relaxing (as I do all the boat work), that’s what it’s all about.
