Who is this Captain Kirk guy anyway?

Captain Kirk guides only one or two people at a time. Sorry, he will not take 3 or more people in the boat.

Dan Kirk began fishing when he was a youngster. His father would take him out on the boat to fish for white bass on the Wolf River. When Dan was 8 years old his family built a cottage on a private lake near Neshkoro, WI. If the fish were biting, Dan was fishing. If the fish weren’t biting, Dan was fishing. This is where Dan learned to fish for large mouth bass. Working top water baits was a thrill as much then as it is today. He also learned to work an original floating Rapala to trick bass into eating. And at times nothing beat a night crawler below a bobber. And he’ll never forget the first time he caught crappies on artificial bait – so many great fishing memories.

A Nice Large Mouth Bass

Fast forward to adulthood. Dan discovered the joys of vertical jig fishing for walleye when his good friend invited him to do a fly-in fishing trip to Canada with a bunch of other guys. Dan agreed, went, and has been addicted to catching walleye and jig fishing ever since. Dan learned how to vertical jig and cast jigs for walleyes on his home waters and he would love to be your professional fishing guide on his local waters in North Central Wisconsin. This includes the Fox River near De Pere, WI, the Wolf River near Fremont, WI and Lake Winnebago! Dan only guides in Wisconsin not far from his home town in Menasha.

Future Captain Kirk

Dan feels closest to God when he’s outdoors. It’s been like that since he was a child. He has a vivid memory of sitting in a tree in a woods not too far from home. He was around that 10 to 12 year old range. He found a great place in the branches to sit and hang out, watch nature, enjoy the breeze, feel the warmth of the sun and be amazed at God’s creation. Birds flew by and some even landed in the same tree that held Dan. A rabbit even slowly hopped by without noticing Dan in the tree. Dan truly sensed the presence of God. Come! Dan Kirk got his captain’s license from the United States Coast Guard in 2017 so he could be called Captain Kirk. Although that’s not the only reason he got his captain’s license. In order to guide on federal waters legally, one must be a certified captain. Although most waters in Wisconsin aren’t federal waters, fishing with a certified captain should give you peace of mind. Captain Kirk will provide a safe and fun experience on the water all while giving you a chance at putting some nice fish in the boat.

Dan has been performing across the country full-time since 1993 as a comic juggler, entertainer, and speaker. He continues to do that today. Dan will often take a fishing rod along depending on what state he is in. When the performing is done, there are fish to be caught.

Captain Dan Kirk lives with his wife, Susan and dog, Bobber in Menasha, WI, just 1 mile west of the north shore of Lake Winnebago and 100 yards south of Little Lake Butte Des Morts. They have 3 grown children and four grandchildren.
